A Little About Me |

I think
that everything should be bright, colourful and fun especially
fashion and that's exactly how I describe my clothing line Dilly Daisy. As a
girl, I always altered my clothing, usually bought second-hand, adding
daisies and other fun embellishments to every piece to make it cute and
original. After learning to sew and design my own clothing, I started
Dilly Daisy in late 2005.
Dilly
Daisy started out to make a little cash to pay for my tuition as well as
buy some essentials for the business. With the money made from auctions
and doing alterations on the side, I was able to purchase business
investments, such as a serger and a website for Dilly Daisy. |

Now, after graduating from electrical engineering, I'm not ready to dive into the 9-5 world yet but would rather pursuit my dream through Dilly Daisy. With fashion shows, selling booths and with every sale, Dilly Daisy is expanding and beginning to blossom. Dilly
Daisy consists of handmade clothing and jewelry. The clothing is
constructed with bright fabrics with funky prints and is handcrafted for girls who like to
stand out and be the best dressed in every room. The jewelry adds touches
of girliness and fun to the outfits. Both
are available through EBAY,
ETSY or directly through the SHOP section.

What kind of sewing machine do you use? How long have you been sewing for? I use a Kenmore sewing machine and a Janome serger and do lots by hand. I've been sewing for over 7 years and have been taking sewing lessons for 4 years now. How did you learn to sew? I took SEWING 101 with my friend Jen who taught me to thread the machine and sew along a curvy line. After that formal training, I bought a sewing machine and jumped right in. I read "Sewing for Dummies" cover to cover and started sewing lessons with my amazing teacher/mentor Joanne. I also took pattern drafting and grading courses which taught me techniques on how to make my own patterns. After you get the basic knowledge, it's all about practicing. More knowledge will follow with every stitch. How do you silk-screen your images? I professionally silk-screen all my images. This means that these images are made on proper screens that have been exposed to a light table and transferred onto the shirt/material with professional fabric ink designed for silk-screening. I then heat set the images to make them last a lifetime. I love one of the tops on the website but it's not my size. Can you make it in my size? Yes. As long as I have enough fabric in stock. Email me your measurements and the item you want and I'll let you know if it's possible. If I don't have the exact fabric, I can usually make the same shirt with different fabrics. Do you do custom orders? Yes. Email me what you have in mind and I'll let you know for sure. Is that your real hair? Yes it is.
